Exhibition: «Romanesque age: in the age of the counts-dukes of Aquitaine, 10th – 12th centuries»
The 10th to 12th century period represents a golden age for Poitiers. Parochial churches or abbeys, castles, cities and villages were built thanks to a buoyant economy, while a new kind of architectural style appeared: the romanesque art.
Six museums in the Poitou-Charentes region have decided to simultaneously present their collections of romanesque art.
