Sensitive to sustainable development; Airlinair chose the ATR for its performances and its respect for the environment.
More economical and less polluting plane on short distances, the ATR regional aircraft indeed uses the least fuel and thus emits the least carbon dioxide.
Airlinair has created 480 jobs over 9 years and more than 1000 indirect or induced jobs.
Airlinair contributes to the economical and touristic development of French regions.
Turboprop engines are the greener in the world: their very low level of gas emission perfectly answers the strictest demands in terms of environmental regulations.
Besides, ATR committed itself in European research programs aiming at conceiving green solutions for future planes and leads its own researches to develop the next generation of green turboprops.
ATR takes part in particular in the Clean Sky program that concentrates on solutions aiming at significantly reducing the environmental impact of air transport and decreasing external noises by 5 decibels, carbon emissions by 30% and nitrogen oxides by 50%.
Sustainable development
We need to react and explain what we do to reduce the 2 to 3% of carbon emissions that can be attributed to air transport and that will soon become 4 to 5 %. We need to carry on investing in better planes adapted to the routes serviced, reducing rolling times and making trajectories straighter. We need to conform, to improve ourselves, to invest in innovation and strengthen our fuel efficiency.
In order to measure its climatic impact, AIRLINAIR has decided to conduct its Bilan Carbone. This process, recognised by Ademe (Agency for environment and energy mastering) and conducted with Climatmundi, will allow us to estimate the greenhouse gas emissions produced by every aspect of the company’s activity, not only by its planes. This process will scrupulously study the company: the fuel efficiency of its aircrafts of course, but also the movements of its employees and customers, airports and catering services, its aircrafts construction and maintenance, as well as its commercial and management activities.
This global vision will allow AIRLINAIR to identify all the actions it can lead in order to basically reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, establish priority actions and set monitoring guidelines.
Then, AIRLINAIR will offer to its customers the calculation and compensation of the carbon equivalent of their transportation.
